Audience Award at Oslo Pix

AN ARMY OF WOMEN has won the Audience Award at Oslo Pix Film Festival following its sold-out Norwegian premiere and two additional screenings. The award, determined by audience votes, saw record participation this year, with 630 votes cast across the films shown.

«It means a lot to win the audience award, and I am proud and happy that the women I portray, who have fought for many years to have their voices heard, are being recognized by the public in this way. Their fight for women's legal rights deserves to be seen. A huge thank you to the audience at Oslo Pix who received the film so warmly, and to the entire team that made this film possible» – Director Julie Lunde Lillesæter

One of the screenings of AN ARMY OF WOMEN at the festival was followed by a panel discussion about the lack of legal protection for sexual assault survivors in Norway. Panel participants included Maria Teresa Grønning Dale (Researcher II, Norwegian Centre for Violence and Traumatic Stress Studies), Thea Myhrer (Caseworker at JURK - Legal Counseling for Women), and Ole Henrik Augestad (Municipal Medical Officer of Sandefjord and Chair of the Rape Committee), and was moderated by Patricia Kaatee (Political Adviser at Amnesty).

Oslo Pix Film Festival is an audience festival that features award-winning and groundbreaking films, and the seventh edition of the festival took place from August 26th to September 1st 2024.
